Abstrakt		The article deals with urgent medical care in major trauma which is most often the consequence of a traffic accident. The victims are usually younger people between 20 and 40 years of age and their incidence is higher and higher. The role of the society as a whole is prevention, while the role of medical profession is relief or prevention of the sequelae of trauma. It hur been proven that the success of therapy and the survival of the injured are in direct connection with the length of timefrom the accident to defnitive surgical care of the injured.
