Abstrakt		Risk assessment should be a basis for a further assessment of an appropriate workplace of disabled people, which is important for preserving their employability and for developing employment opportunities for them. It is a part of tertiary prevention which aims at keeping people at work despite their disabilities. The important role of the employer is stressed, as the employer decides to conduct activities for adapting work and the workplace to the needs of the worker with disabilities. A biopsychosocial model is presented as a new paradigm for creating programmes for the treatment, rehabilitation, assessment of ability to work and employability, job changes and environmental arrangements, supported by the International Classification of Functioning (ICF). The ERTOMIS (EAM) method, its connection with the ICF and its usability as part of the assessment of the appropriateness of the workplace of disabled people are described.
