Abstrakt		Health resorts are those centres where most programmes of health recreation are crried out at the moment in Slovenia. Long-term tradition of the development of health- preventive programmes on the basis of their own indications, enabled Slovene health resorts the development of health- recreational infrastructure, modern equipment and varied sport- recreational objects, suitable and interdisciplinary staffing and connections with the professionals from the University Institute for Work, traffic and Sports Medicine and the Faculty of Sports from Ljubljana. Mutual connections among curative, rehabilitation and preventive programmes of natural health resorts of Slovenia, especially those carried out at čatež, Rogaška Slatina and Radenci, following the tasks of the declaration of the World Health Organization (WHO) "Health for all by the year 2000", the conclusions of the VII. Slovene Medical Congress from 1988 and in accordance with the law on health insurance and its particles dealing with the rights and duties in preservance and enhancement of health and prevention of diseases and their consequences, assure proper place and characteristic role of health recreation in health resorts of the Republic of Slovenia.
