Abstrakt     The methods of demonstration of GRSV antigens and specific antibodies were introduced in to laboratory work. Twelve outbreaks of acute diseases with respiratory symptoms were monitored. Infection with the GRSV was proved in 4 cases on the basis of conversion of antibodies in paired sera samples and in one case on the basis of direct demonstration of the GRSV antigen in nose swab samples. The GRSV was isolated on the AUBEK cellular line. The isolate was determined on the basis of neutralization of the virus by means of the respective anti-GRSV serum as well as in the direct immunofluorescence test. The BioMerieux monoclonal RSV conjugate was used. The incidence of GRSV in three breeds of cattle in Slovenia was studied Positive reaction to the presence of antibodies against GRSV was recorded in 95.5 per cent of black-and-white breed, 57.2 per cent of white-spotted breed and in 41.0 per cent of brown cattle. The percentage of animals with specific antibodies was higher on large publicly-owned farms than on private ones. The condition of animals on 5 fattening farms was observed at the moment of and 3 weeks after stabling. After stabling a significant increase in the number of serologically positive animals was established on three farms. The animals showed clinical signs of respiratory disease.
