Abstrakt		245 mares have been gynaecologically examined. Between lbth and 60th day after last breeding 164 of them were tested on pregnancy by means of real-time ultrasonography. 125 animals (74.39 per cent ) were pregnant. The embryonic vesicle enlarged with advanced pregnancy. On the 20th day of pregnancy the embryo inside the embryonic vesicle was first detected. Between 22nd-26th day after last breeding the embryo was found in the lower, between 27th-32nd day in the middle, between 33rd-37th day in the upper third and between 38th-40th day of pregnanc close to the top of the embryonic vesicle. Early embryonic death was found confirmed detected in 8 mares (6.4 per cent ) and twins in 3 cases (2.4 per cent ). In 7 (17.39 per cent out of 39 non-pregnant mares cysts in the uterine wall were found. In 2 animals 1.6 a mistake m pregnancy diagnosis on 16th resp. 18th day after last breeding was made. The cysts in uterine wall were considered to be the embryonic vesicle.
