Abstrakt | Erythropoietin (EPO) is the most important hematopoetic growth factor in human body. Despite its hematopoetic action it also acts as atissue protective hormone. Tissue protective signaling pathway starts with binding of EPO on its receptor, called EPOR-ßCR. Activation of intracellular RISK signaling pathway prevents reperfusion injury of myocardium. EPO acts tissue protective on myocardium by inhibiting apoptosis and inflammation and later by stimulating neovascularization and preventing remodeling of the myocardium after myocardial infarction. EPO given during resuscitation has beneficial effects on myocardium. It maintains the compliance of the left ventricle and enables more hemodinamically effective chest compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. | |
Izvleček | Eritropoietin (EPO) je najpomembnejši hematopoetski rastni dejavnik, ki ga hkrati uvrščamo med citokine in hormone, deluje pa tudi tkivno protektivno. Signalna molekularna pot, ki deluje zaščitno na tkiva, se začne z vezavo EPO na tkivni eritropoetinski receptor, EPOR-betaCR, in prepreči reperfuzijsko poškodbo miokarda z aktivacijo RISK (perfusion injury signaling kinase pathway) kinazne signalne poti. EPO deluje zaščitno na miokard z zaviranjem apoptoze in vnetja ter kasneje s spodbujanjem neovaskularizacije in preprečevanjem remodelacije miokarda po infarktu. EPO, ki ga damo med oživljanjem, prepreči zmanjšanje podajnosti levega srčnega prekata in tako omogoči hemodinamsko bolj učinkovito zunanjo masažo srca. | |
