Abstrakt     Background. The inflammation of gastric and intestinal mucous membrane are frequently the consequence of different factors. But it is not easy to determine aetiological agents without adequate laboratory examination. Among microbes, which with their enterotoxic and enteroinvasive activities affect the intestinal mucous membrane, there are also the Salmonellas and Campylobacters. Conclusions. The laboratory testing results of 12,885 samples of human feces are shown according to the presence of Salmonellas and Campylobacters in two years period (1989-1991) in the area of Ljubjana. Non-adapted Salmonellas were proved in 5.98 per cent of samples and they belonged to 33 different serotypes. The Campylobacter jejuni/coli were found in 6.13 per cent of samples.
