Abstrakt | | There are numerous reports in the literature on the impact of chronic illness or disability on the child, parents, siblings and the whole family in the areas of physical, emotional, social and economic functioning. One of the possibilities to diminish these influences is the implementation of family-centered service. The concept of family-centered service is made up of a set of values, attitudes, and approaches to services for children with special needs and their families. To evaluate the processes of care, the research group from the CanChild Centre developed the Measure of Process of Care (MPOC) for parents and professionals. Its validity and reliability have been proven. No instrument is yet available to evaluate process of care in Slovenia. The Slovenian version of MPOC is being prepared. A study on its validity, reliability and sensitivity will follow in the future.
