Abstrakt     Cardiac arrest is one of the most urgent complications in medicine. Current guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation stili recommend ratio of chest comprssion to ventilation to be 30:2 since longer interruptions in chest compression proved to have a deleterious effect on circulation. Amajor advance has been the use of automated external defibrillators for borth out-of-hospital and in-hospital cardiac arrest. Few drugs are available for resuscitation and their use is not always evidence based, but health care professionals have to be well familiar with them regardig the urgency of circumstances in which they are used. Among these drugs we discuss adrenaline (epinephrine), vasopressin, amiodarone, lidocaine, magnesion sulphate, atropine, calcium, sodium bicarbonate, liquids, vasopressors and others. Major characteristics, indications, modes of administration, and adverse effects are discussed.
