Abstrakt		The synthesis and in vitro activity of some new and also some in clinical practice known members of cephalosporin antibiotics with aminothiazole moiety are described. Determination of the minimal inhibitory concentration was accomplished with the synthesized compounds by the agar dilution method. We were interested in the following questions: (a) which method for the synthesis of aminothiazole cephalosporin antibiotics would be the most useful and acceptable; (b) which effects would different monocyclic and fused heteroarylthiomethyl groups in 3-position exert upon the activity of the prepared analogues in comparison with cefotaxime and other, in clinical practice known, cephalosporins of the third generation.
