Abstrakt		European collaboration in health care informatics has characterised the beginning of this decade, especially among countries of the European Community According to present activities and new initiatives for pan-European collaboration, the end of this decade will be orientated to an Integrated Health Information Environment. The European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI), Advanced Informatics in Medicine Program (AIM) and CEN TC 251 - Medical Informatics, have leading roles in these processes. Slovenia has taken part in a stream of European collaboration especially after the Slovenian Society for Medical Informatics has become a member of EFMI, International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) and by active participation in the working of the last EFMI congress, which was held in Jerusalem in April 1993. Some of the more important forms of collaboration are presented in this paper.
