Abstrakt		Recently, drug treatment of peptic ulcers (PU) has almost completely superseded surgical treatment. The better understanding of the cause of PU occurence made the development of effective preparations having various modes of action possible. Our paper presents the main groups of drugs used for treatment, but undesirable and side effects most often registered are also listed. In spite of the relatively long and frequent use of such medication, conditioned by recidivity of the disease, the application of these drugs in the recommended doses is relatively safe.
