Abstrakt		Deaths owing to traffic accidents hold substantial place among different forms of violent deaths. As a conseuence of traffic accidents more than 500 people died annually on Slovenian roads in the period over the last five years. Comparison with developed countries indicates that death rate owing to the traffic accidents is in Slovenia considerably higher, regardless of still significantly lower trafic density. Given an unfavourable demographic structure, the loss of human vital resources is yet another factor of deterioration of vital ability of Slovenian population.
