Abstrakt		Patients suffering from somatic disturbances which cannot be objectively detected in the affected organs, frequently fall sick with their working ability temporarily reduced as a consequence. Through their doctor many of them turn to the Commission for the Disabled in order to obtain recognition of their lasting working disability. The purpose of this study is to establish, whether the self defence reaction of the group of people subject to the disability assessment process (N 53) is different from that ofthe group not subject to the process. The subjects were tested by means of the guestionnare "Lifestile", the Splitting Scale and the Projective Identificatin. Shown and interpreted are only the results featuring the intensity of individual self-defence mechanisms, which were obtained from the diagnosis of the subjects tested in accordance with the international classification of diseases (MKB).
