Abstrakt		The treatment of liver injuties is a special challengefor surgeons. We have modern treatment techniques, but severe liver injuries still represent a high percentage of the overall mortality rates. Blunt trauma in motor vehicle accidents is the most common cause of liver injury. Its clinical picture depends on the degree of injury and the number of any other, associated injuries. Patients with severe liver injury and bleeding need resuscitation, fast and effective diagnosis end a correct decision regurding conservative or surgical treatment. The article presents a report on patients with Iiver injuries treated at the Department of Abdominal Surqery, Universty Medical Centre Ljubljana, during the period from 1 January 1998 until 31 December 2009.
