Abstrakt		In the regional orthodontic out-patient department two groups of treated persons have been formed regarding the orthodontic education. In the years 1990/91 the complications at cooperation between school-children, their parents and orthodontists, and their consequences were observed on the base of special criterions (4): uneffectiveness of orthodontic treatment destroyed and lost appliances and drop-outs from evidence unjustified absences during the school year and summer vacation. In the group A with 131 school-children who were - together with their parents - prepared for the co-operation before treatment there were 3,32 per cent inefective treatments and in the group B 23,2 per cent of inelective treatments in 119 school-children, who were orthodontically educated during the treatment. Analysis of pupils in the greup B shows 74 per cent of complications with appliances in the first four treatment seances. At the same time we are confronted with complications concerning appliances, irregular usage and unjustified absences in 40,7 per cent of ineffective treatments. Unjustified absences were observed in one half of the families in both groups during summer vacation, while they were three times less frequent during the school year.
