Abstrakt     The patient's body position and pneumoperitoneum during laparoscopic surgery have impact on arterial pressure and cerebral perfusion, especially when arterial pressure is not within physiological limits. Cerebral perfusion can be assesed by near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), a method used to assess cerebral oxygen saturation. Cerebral perfusion is considered insufficient in patients with saturation levels lower than 40. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of pneumoperitoneum formation and extreme tilting of the body on regional cerebral oxygen saturation.
