Abstrakt     In vitro fertilisation programme necessitates a vast amount of women's ovaries ultrasound scans. It is hard to process all the valuable information from the scans only manually. Therefore, we developed an automated computer algorithm that analyses a digitised sequence of power-Doppler ultrasound images in order to detect, firstly, the blood vessels and, secondly, the ovarian follicles. To recognise the dominant follicles, we use our own approach based on cellular neural networks. This detection takes place in separate 2D images, while the gathered data enter a 3D reconstruction phase afterwards. Several diagnostic indexes are introduced and computed out of 3D, including blood volume, the number of blood vessels and their importance and the ration of volumes of blood and follicle.
