Abstrakt		The physiological aspects of digestion and absorption of carbohydrates fn gastrointestinal tract as well as basic metabolic transformation of carbohydrates in liver and muscle tissues are described. The energetic aspect: of carbohydrates intake and hormonal control of carbohydrate metabolism are stressed. Some common maldigestion and malabsorption ot carbohydrates in human are mentioned.
