Abstrakt		The article deals with the effect of modified Widman flap operation on gingival condition, probing pocket depths and attachment level of a group of 15 patients, suffering from severe pariodontitis, in a 2 year interval after the active treatment. Soon after the flap operation the significant pocket depth reduction, gain of attachment level and improvement of gingival condition took place. The results indicate that the organization of periodontal tissues after the active therapy is a long lasting process which can satisfactorily stabilize a high level of periodontal health provided that a regular recall program is assured.
