Abstrakt		The method of estimation of dental maturity, based on seven left mandibular teeth (Demirjian 1973) was used in the analysis of 476 panoramic radiographs of 7 to 14 years old children with orthodontic malocclusions. We checked the standard of converting into a dental age and sexual differences. No significant differences between the dental maturity of the sample and standards were found. These differences also didn't appear among the children with normal position of teeth and crowding in the left mandibula. For that reason this method can be used with our population regardless of crowding in the dental arch. In dental development girls are more advanced than boys.
