Abstrakt		Applications of helio-materials in dentofacial orthopedics is becoming more and more frequently indicated. The author presents its applicability when constructing attachments for active elastic forces in cases of derotations and open bites, where mono- and bimaxillary elongations of teeth and alveolar ridges are needed. Advantage of helio-materials is stressed when removing constructed attachments because enamel surface stays sound. This fact furthermore increasis applicabiliy of these materials. Additional field of indications, which is becoming more and more put in use, are cases when fixed splints or retentive appliances after orthodontic therapy are needed. Biological tissue reactions are described when active forces of orthodontic appliances were used. It is also ascertained that indications for these materials in dentofacial orthopedics are still not fully utilized.
