| Abstrakt | Morphometric characteristics of muscle fibre types (number of fibres, minimal diameter, area, percentage of fibre types) were studied by computer aided method in three smallest fascicles, still clearly separable by perimysium of m. longissimus dorsi (MLD) and m. semimembranosus (MSM) in different pig breeds (Duroc, Large White, German Landrace, Swedish Landrace). The lowest number of fibres in MLD and MSM fascicles were proved in pigs of Large White breed. Rearding percentage, diameter and area, pigs of Duroc breed had the largest diameter and area of type 2B, and the highest percentage of type 1 and 2A fibres in both muscles. | |
