Abstrakt		Between the years 1983 - 1992, 503 patients (280 men, 223 women) with the renal carcinoma were operated at the Urologic Clinic in Ljubljana. In 31 patients we chose abdominal approach in 4 the thoracoabdominal one, and in 468 patients the lumbothomia. Eight patients had tumor in the solitary kidney and 6 patients were treated for bilateral tumors. In 14 patients the tumor invaded into vena cava. Five year's survival rate was found out for 250 patients: 129 patients had the disease in the I. stage and 87 (75 percent) survived five years or more. From 83 patients in the II. stage, 46 (60 percent), were alive after five years. 27 patients were in the III. stage. After five years 12 (40 percent) were still alive. 11 patients had the disease in the IV. stage and only 1 (10 percent) survived five years.
