| Abstrakt | In the Republic of Slovenia there were 23447 road accidents during the period from January 1st, 1987 to December 31st, 1990 resulting in 2180 deaths. 30280 persons were injured, 12101 suffered heavy and 18179 had minor trauma. The authors wanted to find out the number of trauma victims in which the mcasures wen taken to overcome acute respiratory failure, from the site of injury to the ultimate treatment. The questionnaire was distributed to 18 hospitals and only 7 replied. The authors discuss intolerable health care record deficiency concerning traffic injuries and have doubts about the answer receivcd, especially after reviewing foreign literature reports. They believe, that the number of injured persons with acute obstructive respiratory distress is higher. Appropriate measures for establishing effcient pre hospital emergency care service system are presented. | |
