Abstrakt		The aim of the present study was to test whether simultaneous heparin and plasminogen administration improves local thrombolytic treatment of arterial occlusions. The study encompassed three groups of patients with acute and subacute arterial occlusions of the lower limbs. Although the difference between the number of successfully and unsuccessfully treated patients of three groups was not statistically significant (too small groups) the result suggest that heparin may contribute to greater therapeutic success. This could be the consequence of antithrombotic action of heparin. Heparin significantly reduced the number of ascending thrombosis along the intraarterial catheter (p less th. 0.05).
