Abstrakt		Monitoring of tissue oxygenation by near infrared spectrometry is a simple and noninvasive method for assessment the tissue oxygenation. It can be used to monitor and guide the resuscitation of trauma patients in the emergency setting, to monitor tissue perfusion in cardiogenic shock and to assess oxygen extraction and vascular reactivity in septic shock.
