| Abstrakt | Pathophysiology of the arterial stenosis during and after the balloon dilatation, as well as mechanisms of the acute occlusion and development of restenosis are reviewed. The technique of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) is described in more detail. Indications for and limitations of PTA, as well as the results of PTA in different arteries, are discussed. | |
| Izvleček | V preglednem prispevku je razloženo patofiziološko dogajanje med balonskim širjenjem zoženega odseka arterije in celjenje po njem. Prikazani so mehanizmi nastanka akutne zapore in ponovne stenoze ter načini zaščite. Podrobneje je opisana tehnika perkutane transluminalne angioplastike, PTA. Razložene so indikacije na splošno in indikacije ter rezultati PTA v posameznih področjih. Prikazani so zapleti pri PTA in omejitve metode. | |
