Abstrakt | We analysed a group of 1041 pts, 752 males (average age 59 +- 11 years) and 259 females (average age 68 +- 11 years), cured in UKC Ljubljana for AMI to find out the cause of death during a period of 9 years. Therefor we used a questionary filled out when being discharged from the hospital, 6 months later and once yearly afterwards. The pts were invitewd to come to the control but an inquirement was made in case of death. We found out that mortality is strongly connected with age, regardless the sex. We also stated a multivariant statistically significantcorrelation between mortality and the anterior localization of the infarction, reinfarction, cardiac failure, arrhythmias, esspecialy with ventricular tachycardia, atrial tacycardia and tachyarryhythmia, with diabetes and with omisson of rehabilitation after AMI. Comparing sudden and expected deaths we stated that the suddenly deceased were statistically significant younger, regardless the sex. The percentage of sudden death of males was higher than of females, but not statistically significant. Survival after AMI did not show any statistical differences between the sudden and expected deaths. All this show that sudden death appears to be a complex and not yet sufficently explined event. | |
