Abstrakt		A great number of diseases are the consequences of interactive impacts of genetic deficiencies, environmental stress, individual problem solving strategy and coping with stress. The most frequent psychosomatic diseases are: musculosceletal diseases, digestive problems with ulcer and respiratory diseases with asthma. According to the results of analyses of 38 persons with dominant diagnosis - asthma in the process of estimation for work, the following characteristics are typical: more introvert, sensitive personalities with high level emotional instability and higher level of neuroticism and anxiety. The dominant defence mechanisms are: intellectualisation, projection, negation and compensation. Results are comparable with world's experience manifesting connection between personality and health problems.
