Abstrakt		In his contribution the author reports on the activities of the Republic Expert Committee for Medical Ethics. The Committee was founded in the early sixties by the Medical Faculty in Ljubljana with the major task to discuss and give opinion on biomedical research protocols before the studies were being undertaken. With the progress of biomedical technology, the competence of the Committee was expanded to the whole territory of the Republic of Slovenia. This report concentrates on the opinions of the Committee with regard to organ transplants, assisted reproductive techniques and human genetics. The Helsinki-Tokyo Declaration and the Code of Practice of Medical Workers have served as guidelines for the decisions of the Committee. In the last period the Committee discussed and gave opinion on about 150-180 research proposals yearly.
Izvleček		Avtor v svojem prispevku poroča o delu Republiške strokovne komisije za medicinska etična vprašanja. Njeno delo pričenja v prvi polovici 60. let najprej kot Komisija medicinske fakultete, ki je obravnavala biomedicinske raziskovalne protokole. Kasneje je zaradi napredovanja biomedicinske tehnologije razširila svoje kompetence na vso slovensko republiko. Poročilo navaja stališča Komisije zlasti na področju transplantacije organov, asistirane reprodukcije in humane genetike. Kot osnova za delo je Komisiji služila Helsinško- Tokijska deklaracija in nacionalni Kodeks etike zdravstvenih delavcev. V zadnjem obdobju je pregledala in ocenila od 150 do 180 vlog letno.
