Abstrakt		The article deals with a case report on technology transfer of a social community alarm system - Lifeline to Slovenia. The main reason for this project is the aging of the Slovenian population (11 of the population is 65 and above). With the system we tend to support public temptation to keep elderly in their homes as long as possible instead of putting them under institutional care. In the period from 1992-1995 the following results were achieved: the acceptability of the system in the social environment was increased; a pilot control center in Ljubljana was established and has been operational for 2,5 years; a national dissemination plan was prepared; the integration of the successful transfer of the technology which affects also social values in the society a social innovation must support the process.
