Abstrakt     Incapsulated bacteria as Haemophilus influenzae (Hi), Neisseria meningitidis and Streptococcus pneumoniae (Stp) are the main Causative agents of infections in children. In Slovenia they present as much as 95 percent of known etiology of bacterial meningitides in children above one month of age (1). As the infections of all the three agents are serious and at the same time the prevalence of the resistant strains increases, and because of the possible permanent consequences (in Slovenia there are neurological consequences in 20 precent of children), the introduction of protective vaccination could offer the protection against meningitides and bacteriemias for a longer period. For the mere introduction of the routine vaccination it is necessary to know well the epidemiology and serotypes of the quoted bacteria occuring in Slovenia, which we wish to achieve with the present research.
