Abstrakt		Authors presented the trend of hospital treatment of population in Pomurje in the period of five years. The rate of hospitalization on 1000 inhabitants in Pomurje is recognized as higher than the Slovenian average. The rate of hospitalization increased for 11,1 percent from the year 1988 to 1992. Respiratory diseases are the leading cause of hospitalization in Pomurje, cardiovascular diseases are the second and the third are digestive diseases. Cardiomyopathy is the leading diagnosis on the basis of which the population in Pomurje is hospitalized. The rate of hospitalization for this diagnosis in Pomurje is 39,66/1000 inhabitants. On the other side the rate of hospitalization in Slovenia for the same disease is only 5,17/1000 inhabitants. This is the reason why we suggest that is necessary to follow and analyse the hospital treatment in the region of Pomurje.
