Abstrakt     Antiparrot and antipigeon immunoglobulin produced in our laboratory was used in IIF test for establishing antibody titers against Chlamydia psittaci. For testing the conjugate parrot and pigeon hyperimmune sera were used, gained after Mycoplasma gallisepticum infection. The examination of internal organs and swabs from parrots in DIF test showed 30,00% of positive reactions. The average percent (80%) of postitve organs of the tested birds showed the need of testing at least two of the internal organs of each chlamydia infection suspected bird. In positive cases the reaction of some tested organs was positive from 40 to 100%. In DIF test we could not find chlamydia infection in pigeons. The serologically positive reactions in IIF test showed the infection in 38,95% of parrots, 59,02% of breed pigeons and 66,67% of urban pigeons. The results showed linear corelation between the age of tested pigeons and the number of positive reactions. We establised 30,43% of positive reactions in parrots from breeds and 66,07% of positive reactions in parrots from shops according to the whole number of tested parrots at breeders and dealers. Regarding the number of examined parrot breeds and pet shops they proved serologically positive in 44,44%, 100 precent resp. Regarding the number of examined pigeon breeds the established percent of positive birds was 72,73 %. Forty - five days treatment of infected parrots with oxytetracyclines was performed and the successful results were established, the antibody titers decreased to 1: 80 or lower. The biological trial on white laboratory mice was performed. The Giemsa and Gimenez staining of mice kidney showed elementary bodies. We found Chlamydia psittaci in spleen and epithelial cells of the urinary sack of infected mice using DIF test. In IIF test the established antibody titer 1:640 on the 12th day of our trial was found.
