Abstrakt		In Slovenia the bull and breeding centres are free of IBR/IPV infection. In 1993 an epizootiologic analysis was performed and bull-mother breedings were tested for antibodies against IBR/IPV virus. 281 (3.42%) samples in 38 (11.8%) herds were positive in the seroneutralization test. The lowest number of positive animals belonged to the Prekmurje area (0.4%), the highest number to the Primorska area (10.8%). 28.6% bull-mother herds were IBR/IPB positive in the Dolenjska area, the minimum of positive bull-mother herds belonged to the Prekmurje area (4.5 %). Positive cattle in herds with a low number of positive reactors should be eliminated. In the other herds the Bavarian eradication program should be started with. The young bulls from IBR/IPV positive herds should not be sold to insemination centres.
