Abstrakt     The present article was written with a wish to present the way and the meaning of the functioning of the first degree urgent medical care together with the pre-hospital unit. The statute of urgent medical activities, which is being prepared, includes a two degree system of extending urgent medical care, in which a pre-hospital unit responds to a call from the first degree in case when it is expected to have a greater possibility of survival or treatment of the injured or patients. Question arises whether the system used in the Western Europe could completely meet the needs of the same activity in Slovenia. The two degree system of extending urgent medical care already exists in Ljubljana. The cited example of reanimation of the patient shows the harmony of the functioning of urgent medical care on the first degree with a pre-hospital unit. The outcome was not successful for the patient. Anyhow, it shows the neccesity of the cooperation with the pre-hospital unit as well as the neccesity of a two degree system. At the same time it reveals the disadvantages in the equipment and the realization. We do hope that the situation will improve essentially with the adoption of the doctrine, determining the area of urgent medical care.
