Abstrakt		Internal Medicine Emergency Department operates within Accident and Emergency Center of Medical center Ljubljana. It serves as emergency department for all emergencies from the field of internal medicine for the city of Ljubljana and its adjacent area. We have analyzed department's activities in the second half of the year 1994. An average of 45 patients present to the department every day and the figure is in constant increase. The ratio of patients admitted to hospital versus those discharged back home is also increasing. According to expectations the elderly patients prevail. Some data on diagnostic and therapeutic activities are also presented.
