Abstrakt		Electronic data interchange in health service account is already widely applied through-out the world as it saves time and costs and is penetrating into Slovenia, too. The aim of the article is to present reasons why and how we have decided to apply electronic data interchange in the ZZZS. The article deals with problems, activities and technology needed for such business approach. Health service account was used as a prototype for electronic interchange. A pilot installation, now used for regular data processing, has been done in co-operation with the Railway health center from Ljubljana.
