Abstrakt | A novel dual channel implantable stimulator system has been developed. One of the problems of selective activation of nerve fibres is solved with this device - to activate muscles selectively and obtain a functional movement in certain applications. The stimulator comprises an implantable receiver and an external transmitter providing power and stimulus information for the receive. The stimulator is small, low cost and potentially useful for various applications. Animal implantation experiments are in progress in order to measure different parameters and to test selective activation of the muscles, technology of our system in vivo (reliability, functionality, repeatability) and to make some histological examinations. Some preliminary results are presented. | |
