Abstrakt		The authors studied the attitude of Slovene adolescents towards money and money related issues, and compared their results with those obtained by foreign researchers. The research comprised 164 students, 84 of whom were from a vocational school and 80 from a grammar school. They were aged between 15 and 18 and both sexes were equally represented. Statistically, the education level of the parents of the grammar school students was significantly higher than that of the parents of the vocational school students. In this case, the education level served as an indicator of the economic status of the student's family. The positions and views of the students, though similar in many aspects, occasionally differed, in accordance with their social status and age. The latter was not a key differentation facor, due to the relatively small age range. The Slovene and the English students responded similarly in many ways, however, there were differences reflecting the current economic situation in Slovenia. Although the answers given by our students were influenced by the unstable economic situation characteristic of the transitional period, they were often more complex than those of their English peers.
