Abstrakt		Duplex and colour Doppler ultrasound are noninvasive diagnostic methods for identifying and locating, as well as for qualifying and quantifying blood flow within the cardiovascular system. In modern gynaecology and obstetrics, both duplex and color Doppler ultrasound methods are indispensable tools for diagnosing various pathologic states in pregnancy, as wel as for detecting developmental anomalies of the fetal heart and circulation, and assessing vascularisation of genital tumors. Doppler ultrasound offers a useful technique for morphological and functional analysis of hemodynamic changes in blood vessels. Stenoses, occlusions, dilations and pathologic vascularisation are most easily located by colour Doppler ultrasound. Measurements of various blood flow indexes allow for qualitative evaluation of hemodynamic alterations.
