Abstrakt		The number of reconstructive arterial surgery in the general hospital Novo mesto is increasing. The biggest proportion of them represents the construction of a by-pass to a popliteal or crural arteries. The 30 days primary patency rate was 76%. The calculated number of reconstructive arterial operation per million of inhabitants is lower then in western European countries. On the other side is calculated number of the big amputations of the lower limb due to ischaemia at the same level as in western Europe. With better diagnostic possibilities and better accessibility to them many lower limbs could be saved and the quality of life of many patient could be improved.
