Abstrakt     Varicella is a common childhood infection manifested by mild systemic symptoms, a characteristic rash and fever. Usually it is benign and self limited . Although varicella is thought to be a mild disease, reported complications include bacterial infections, neurological involvement, Reye's syndrome, coagulation defects and some other involvements. The authors give a review of the most frequent bacterial infections accompanying varicella and make a brief report on their experience with 48 varicella patients with different bacterial infections. The majority were lesions of the skin and soft tissues. respiratory tract infections and otitis media. Etiology and therapy are emphasised.
