Abstrakt		The sick-leave absence is important indicator of ill health status of employees. We have a long-standing tradition of collecting data about sick-leave absence in Slovenia. The data are analysed by computers since 1990. In 1992 a new health care law set legal basis form changes in collecting data about sickleave absence. There were economic reasons for these changes: the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia had to pay higher wage indemnities from year to year. From these reasons professionals from the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia and the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Slovenia have created new official form for Certificate and these data were transferred from general practitioners of other doctors of primary health care to the regional Institutes of Public Health in a new way. We have got the unique software with controls for collection data in all regional Institutes of Public Health and we will try to analyse data using unique methodology in all regions of Slovenia to get comparable result. This data about sick leave absence are going to be a good basis for our future plans from medical, social and economical point of view.
