Abstrakt		In the Ljubljana University Medical Center (UMC) a program called PAW was designed a few years ago and distributed to its departments for a uniform basic patients' data collecting and processing. In our Institute (of Clinical Nurophysiology - ICN) it was installed on a Novell network server for the use on five PCs in the reception & administration office. As the program proved convenient in creating patients' database and in handling basic data for managemental purposes, but inappropriate for designing and processing of medical records, we developed a program IP1 which now runs parallel with PAW on the same network. It can be accessed from any computer in the ICN laboratories or doctors' rooms. The patients' database created by PAW is thus upgraded with medical data obtained in the routine diagnostic procedures as well as with medical reports. Additionally, with the IP1's flexible statistical module, an analysis of individual ICN labs sevices can be performed.
