Abstrakt		In Slovenia have dispensaries for children more than 70 years of tradition. All this time they were the main carriers of prevention and curative activities in child health care outside the hospital. They practice medical educational in accordance with their professional duties, staff, financial and space abilities. It is done systematically, continually and complex as a primary, secondary or tertiary preventive activity - individually or in groups. The health care system, and particularly the health insurance policy lays a special emphasis on the individual concerned with his/her health. The concern is shown in the form of laic self help and mutual help, and in the usage of health services only when it is really necessary. That way the health education receives a new and important role in the gaining of knowledge about our own health, life-style, and the possibilities of maintenance and improvement of our health. The physician plays an important role in health promotion and can influence the parents to keep record of specific behaviour patterns in the interest of health improvement of their children. A change in family behaviour patterns of is also a criterion for successful health-education work.
