Abstrakt		After a history of being developed through the period of around 25 years, Health Informatics reached an important milestone when the National Programme of Health Informatics was launched. The article gives a brief outline of the reasons for its introduction of its planned development and of the projects currently running within its framework setting the basis for the future.
