Abstrakt		We often think of complications of the suppurative otitis media as temporal and intracranial. Another possible complication is a sepsis because of mastoiditis, which is illustrated in two case reports. Early mastoidectomy with exposition of the sigmoid sinus should be performed in order to eradicate the focus of disease. Febrile and comatous patients sometimes represent a diagnostic challenge, in which an otorhinolaryngologyist should always cooperate.
Izvleček		Pri zapletih gnojnega vnetja srednjega ušesa običajno pomislimo na temporalne in intrakranialne. Možen zaplet pa je tudi sepsa, kar je v članku ponazorjeno s prikazom dveh bolnic. Ob ustreznem antibiotičnem zdravljenju je nujna čimprejšnja operativna odstranitev vnetnega žarišča - mastoidektomija in razkritje sigmoidnega sinusa. V diagnostični obdelavi nejasne vročine mora vedno sodelovati otorinolaringolog.
