Abstrakt     The status and trends of coronal caries in the countries of South-eastern Europe have been analysed from the perspective of migration and its influence on the patterns of oral health in Europe. The countries discussed have no typical immigrant groups that would differ from the native population in the socio-economic situation and access to health care. However, the native population in each of these countries is an important source of migration to other parts of Europe. The analysis has been limited to the status of coronal caries in the mentioned countries. Data on the prevalence of coronal caries in immigrant groups that originate from these areas and live elsewhere in Europe are not available. The caries status (DMFT) of 12-year-olds and the year in which the epidemiological survey took place in each country are as follows: Albania 2.8 (1990), Greece 1.9 (1991), Italy 2.9 (1991), Former Yugoslav Republics 2.6-6.9 (1986-1993). Repeated surveys carried out in the past years show a declining trend of dental caries among 12-year olds in all countries studied.
